Sports Injury Rehabilitation
From injury back to the field — with objective criteria deciding when you're ready, not a guess.
What it is
Sports injury rehab treats the sprains, strains, tears, and overuse injuries of athletes and active people — and manages the harder question: when is it actually safe to go back?
Our answer is measured. We benchmark strength, movement quality, and sport-specific capacity against your uninjured side and against your sport's demands, so return-to-play is a decision backed by data.
Who it helps
- Ankle sprains and knee ligament injuries
- Muscle strains (hamstring, groin, calf, quad)
- Overuse injuries — runner's knee, shin splints, tendinopathy
- Shoulder and elbow injuries in overhead athletes
- Post-injury deconditioning and re-injury anxiety
Competitive and recreational athletes, weekend warriors, runners, lifters, and student athletes — anyone whose goal is a sport, not just daily comfort.
How we assess
Sport-demands history, injury-specific testing, side-to-side strength comparison, and movement assessment under load. Baseline numbers define your gap; the gap defines the plan.
What treatment looks like
Progressive loading matched to tissue healing, strength and power rebuilding, movement retraining, and staged return — practice before competition, volume before intensity. We coordinate with coaches and athletic trainers when you want us to.
Evidence & limitations
Criteria-based rehabilitation measurably reduces re-injury risk compared with time-based return — the evidence is strongest for ACL and hamstring injuries. The honest caveat: no test battery eliminates re-injury risk, and rushing the last 20% is where most setbacks happen. We will tell you when you're not ready.
Questions, answered
How is this different from regular PT?
The destination. Daily-life rehab ends at comfortable function; sports rehab continues through power, agility, and sport-specific capacity, with objective return-to-play criteria.
Can I keep training while injured?
Usually yes — modified. Protecting the injured tissue rarely requires resting everything else, and we build the work-around program.
Do you treat student athletes?
Yes, within our standard scope. School and league clearance requirements vary, and we document to whatever standard your program needs.
